Since we got here in the dark, we didn’t see the lake until this morning. It is a stunning combination of blues depending on the depth and our hotel was right on the water. We are going to spend a few days here getting our things in order and making sure we are ready to cross the border into Belize. This will be our final Mexican city, and let me tell you it is a spectacular way to wrap up a country.
We left the Pyramid of the Sun on Jan 1st and drove an hour and a half South to Tepoztlan. We had heard that it was a popular day trip from Mexico City and attracted a “new age” vibe. That was about all we knew, but it sounded good enough to visit.
We’ve fallen way behind writing, so we’re splitting this up into two parts. Part One: Sayulita to Mexico City by Josh and Part Two: Mexico City and Beyond by Rachel.
This morning, we flew from Tijuana to La Paz. “But Tijuana is north of La Paz—at the USA border, isn’t it??” Yes, dear reader, yes it is. “But aren’t you riding south? And aren’t you on a motorcycle?” Yes, yes we are. “So why the heck did you fly to Tijuana?”
As I sat down to write this blog post, I asked myself, “what is the purpose of this blog? Is it to update friends and family of our whereabouts? Provide tips and tricks for future travelers? Share insights into the cities and towns we visit?
Catching up on the past week! I got word the bike would be ready Thursday so I booked a flight to Spokane. Wednesday night I got word that it wouldn’t be until 6pm Thursday, so I got to the shop at about 1pm. I sat down with shop owner and he said “we have 36.5 hrs into this thing” at $100/hr.”
Wow, this is my (Josh’s) first attempt at writing a blog post in a long time, so please bear with me while I get back in the swing of things. I’m also writing this on my phone because I sold my computer last night. And for my final excuse, I just stole one of my father-in-law’s apple fritters and my fingers are sticky.
S.O.S. Because I’m 5 foot 2, I wanna dance witchu, and I’m sophisticated fun!
Ok. So I’m really 5’3″ (still not model height) and I’m more of a one-too-many-martinis fun. But I do wanna dance, and it would be really nice to have some quality motorcycle pants to show off my moves.
