Bintangs ‘n thangs. Lifestyle shoot with this smoke show is on my site now❗️I told her to move the Bintang so it wasn’t in her shot and she goes, “um, no I kind of like it.” And then I was like, “DID WE JUST BECOME BEST FRIENDS?” I love when my clients are all about just being 100 percent themselves in front of the camera. Like, yeah, this was a “business” shoot for her biz, but Katie is all about being her actual real ass self and is infusing that into her business, which I love. I’m equally game to just put it all out there with my business and say “look, this is how I talk. This is how I dress. This is what I drink/don’t drink. Still want to hire me? Super, I’ll be myself and you be you.” The end result? You get hired by people who you resonate with, connect to, and ultimately it’s easier to please your clients because you’re vibin. Katie, keep bintangin’ & businessin’.Bintangs ‘n thangs. This epic in-home session is now live on my website! Also, if you like badass, spiritually in-tune, relationship-savvy yogis, go follow @theremoteyogi . This human has the most altruistic heart and gives so much to those around her. I’ve already absorbed many of the lessons she’s taught me and can’t wait to see what else is in store. Also, this is a very accurate representation of what I’ll be doing with myself tonight, rather than going to the bars and socializing. What’s the best time to post on ig? LOL DON’T KNOW DON’T CARE! I’m making a promise to you and myself that sharing photography on Instagram will be promotion-free. No hashtags or well-timed posts. Ok wait—maybe a funny hashtag here and there because, #humor, hashtag it’s fun to hashtag dumb shit. And I will tag appropriately because it’s rude not to give credit, and I’m the hostess with the mostess 💁🏼‍♀️I spent a lot of this year worrying so much about Instagram. About when we posted, what we posted, and how many likes or followers it got. In the last six weeks, I learned that YES, Instagram is the biggest way photographers show their work (potential clients be like: “what’s your ig!?” Not, “what’s your portfolio URL!?”). I considered using my personal ig for my photography, but girl I love a good selfie and regular old iPhone pic, and I’m not willing to give that up. So imma find a nice lil’ balance: imma share my photos here to build dat “portfolio”, and imma resist the temptation to make it anything more than that. Imma imma imma be. I think I need to listen to some black eyed peas now. And cuddle one of these puppies. OH BUT ALSO PLEASE GO FOLLOW @katiethegreen BECAUSE SHE IS SHARING A REALLY INCREDIBLE STORY AND BUILDING A BRAND AND I AM A LUCKY HUMAN FOR GETTING TO PHOTOGRAPH HER. “Can you throw your partner around? And then drop her on the bed and wrestle? Yeah, just like that.” . Instagram is a bitch and won’t let me make a new account for my photography, and Josh and I both agree this could be a space for me to share it. This way I get to keep @rachel_havekost my personal place, and this can be my portfolio place. . I took photos of this couple two days ago and they fuckin rocked it. So much tickling and wrestling and a lot of food-to-the-face moments (those are to come.) . I’ll be getting back to my @eastbalicashews granola and @netflix now.“Can you throw your partner around? Dear Instagram,⁣ ⁣ We wanted to update you on our trip, as a lot has happened and changed. (Rach here)⁣ ⁣ This trip has been full of ups and downs. We have been to many incredible places, loved the time on the road, and valued our freedom. It has also been incredibly taxing at times, and as the trip has progressed, the challenges have swallowed the pleasure.⁣ ⁣ I’ve been experiencing digestive and hormonal issues in the last year that have only gotten worse. After endless research, bloodwork, and doctor’s visits, we have postulated that the cause is stress related, and that traveling in this way is inducing many of my symptoms. ⁣ ⁣ Additionally, we have been facing challenges within our relationship. All relationships require patience, work, and communication, and we have come to a point where we have exhausted those resources. Being together 24/7 has taken a toll on us, and we are struggling to get along. ⁣ ⁣ These issues have been building over time, and we both worked very hard to maintain composure and continue on this trip. We shared what we felt comfortable with on this platform, but wanted to have some sense of privacy as well as we tried to push through the difficulties we experienced.⁣ ⁣ After a lot of thought and discussion, we determined that it was no longer in my best interest to stay traveling on the motorcycle. My health and our relationship are suffering too much.⁣ ⁣ It was a difficult decision and the last week has been really rough for both of us, but we decided Josh will ride on to Buenos Aires without me. It could take him 6-8 weeks. We both agree that time apart will be good for us. ⁣ ⁣ Over the last few months, I have thought about what I would do if this scenario came up. I think that was my subconscious telling me I didn’t want to be on this trip anymore, but I didn’t want to acknowledge it. When I imagined what I would do, I always pictured going back to Bali. After hashing out all the options of what I would do while Josh rode on, we decided Bali would be a safe place for me to be alone, to rekindle a sense of independence and autonomy, and seek out spiritual and naturopathic practices.⁣ ⁣ *Read on in Comments*Dear Instagram,⁣ ⁣ We wanted to update you on our trip, as a lot has happened and changed. We know you guys like to see our challenges, our border fiasco had the highest ratings of the quarter! So on your behalf, we have had a week of struggles and challenges. (Josh here!) ⁣ ⁣ Two days ago we rode to this ruins site called Kuelap. It's like Machu Picchu for hipsters. (It's 600-900 years older and has more rocks but not as many tourists) I didn't get out enough cash leaving the town we had stayed in an hour back up the road. After the price of the cable car to the top of the mountain, we didn't have enough for the actual entrance fee. I was able to finagle cashback from the cafe after agreeing to overpay. ⁣ ⁣ Rachel was pissed I'd put us in the situation. I was stubbornly sticking to the position that it had worked out, and didn't she have a debit card too? (For context I have always been the one to take out cash on this trip, so it’s valid that she assumed I’m in charge of getting the cash.) After touring the site, it became clear there was no cash to be had in this town or the next. I had to ride back the hour to where we had come from, then return to pick up Rachel and continue to our planned next stop. ⁣ ⁣ By the time we got to Leymebamba it was dark and the hotel we had seen online didn't exist any longer. We found another and set out to find dinner, which in tiny towns means settling for rice and whatever other vegetables we can talk them into. Depending on our mood our reviews usually range from "hey, that worked." to "why the eff are we doing this again?!"⁣ ⁣ The truth is since leaving Ecuador we've pushed it a little hard. We've only had one day off from riding, whether to the next town or to a site-seeing activity. It's always a recipe for things to deteriorate. Perú is massive compared to Ecuador and things are more spread out. That means longer travel days and higher likelihood we'll need to stop in less than idyllic towns, eat at less than idyllic restaurants and have less than idyllic communication between the two of us. ⁣ ⁣ We've been trying to figure out how to share the “less than idyllic.” IF we should share it. On one hand, we don't want to ONLY post the good stuff, we're trying to be authentic after all.
